Richard M. Terek, MD, is Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, Director of Orthopaedic Oncology at Rhode Island Hospital, and Chief of Orthopaedics at the Providence VA Medical Center. He attended medical school at the University of Chicago, completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at Loyola University and a fellowship in Orthopaedic Oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where he also was a research fellow in the Laboratory of Mammalian Cell Transformation. His research has focused on the molecular genetics of chondrosarcoma and he is currently an NIH funded investigator. Dr. Terek has served on the Research Development Committee of the AAOS, was an AOA Austrian-Swiss-German traveling fellow, is an Associate Editor for Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, and is Past-President of the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society and Rhode Island Orthopedic Society.
