Dr. Marcantonio earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.  He completed his osteopathic medical degree, internship, and Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.  After completing residency he spent a year under the direction of Drs. Hans-Christoph Pape, Gary Gruen, and Ivan Tarkin at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center completing a fellowship in Orthopaedic Traumatology.  He earned his Master of Business Administration at Auburn University’s Harbert College of Business and has served as the Director of Orthopaedic Trauma at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center since 2007.  His interests include peri-articular fractures, hip fracture research, pelvis and acetabular trauma, peri-prosthetic fractures, and polytrauma.  Dr. Marcantonio is an active member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.  He serves as a faculty member of AO North America and is Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Boston University School of Medicine.
