Guest Professors

Michael P. Bolognesi, MD is Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, Chief of the Adult Reconstruction Division, and Director of the Adult Reconstruction Fellowship in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Duke University School of Medicine. He completed medical school and his residency at Duke, followed by a Fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. After his training, Dr. Bolognesi joined the Duke academic faculty where his practice is focused on total hip and knee replacement, uni-compartmental arthroplasty, revision total hip and knee replacement, and patient outcome optimization. He conducts a high volume of clinical research focused on studying the outcomes of these procedures as well as investigating the introduction of new technologies to advance this field of care.

David R. Diduch, MS, MD, is the Alfred R. Shands, Professor and Vice Chairman in Orthopaedics at the University of Virginia. He specializes in sports medicine and has been the Head Orthopaedic Team Physician for UVA athletics since 2003. In addition, he serves as medical director of the UVA Sports Medicine Clinic and medical director of the 12 room UVA Outpatient Surgery Center. Dr. Diduch leads a very active research effort with currently over 20 active IRB approved studies in the sports division. He has over 128 peer-reviewed publications, 30 book chapters, edited 3 books, and has received 26 grants as primary investigator. 

Claude Sagi, MD, Professor of Orthopaedics at the University of Washington, specializes in orthopaedic trauma and pelvic and acetabular surgery. Dr. Sagi attended the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC, Canada for his Bachelor of Science in Physics and Chemistry and his Medical Degree. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Ottawa in ON, Canada. He has completed fellowship training in Orthopedic Trauma at the Florida Orthopedic Institute in Tampa, FL and Spine Surgery at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. He is currently the Chief of Pelvic Trauma at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Section Editor for Pelvis and Acetabulum with the Journal of Orthopedic Trauma, and a member of the Evidence Based Medicine Committee with the Orthopedic Trauma Association.
